Several of the Motorhome magazines that are available in the UK publish annual "product comparisons" in one form or another. One of the products reviewed annually is motorhome insurance. Typically this involves "mystery shoppers" calling all the known motorhome insurance specialists and going through a few quotation scenarios. These quotes are then assessed against various criteria, including:

• Product knowledge
• Quality of cover
• Helpfulness
• Competitiveness

Once the results are collated the outcomes are recorded and winners selected against various headings. Over the years Comfort Insurance has been awarded "winner" and "highly commended" status across various categories, including "Insurance Provider of the Year" 3 times. Other awards reflect our documentation and service. These awards are evidence that we always try to be innovative, whilst at the same time maintaining our reputation for friendly and efficient customer service.

Specialist motorhome magazines are also a good way of getting both our name and services across to the public. Over the years we have regularly contributed advertorial content, containing a mix of product details with (hopefully) useful general information and advice. On occasions, magazines have sent us questions from readers that we have then responded do in a following issue. Many of our magazine articles have been on general interest subjects, such as the Low Emission Zone, rather than simple adverts for our own products. This is part of our ongoing attempt to be seen as more than simply "insurance people".

The article shown here is a good example of our wish to get helpful information and advice out into the public domain. No-one wants to be in a position where they find their insurance policy failing to "perform" when it comes to a claim, but this situation can arise if cover has not been properly explained or if vital facts have not been disclosed to the insurer. Across various articles and publications we have tried to reinforce the messages that could help the public to avoid the pitfalls - a bad experience with insurance is remembered or far longer than a good one.
