As with previous guides, we've tried to include all companies that offer motorhome insurance. Besides putting their sales assistants to the test by phoning up as potential customers, we've also put their marketing departments to the test by asking them lots of questions about their policies. The fruits of our labours are shown in the table on page 94 – and just a quick glance will show you that there are lots of key differences between the various offerings out there. It's up to you to make sure you pin down the right one. But fret not, because we'll help you get it right. Let's start off with some good news, which is that the standard of telephone service was higher this year than it was in 2005. The service I got last year was often akin to what I would have expected if I'd walked into an insurance broker with a sign saying ‘abuse me' round my neck. I'd like to think our hard-hitting round-up last year caused a few heads to roll – if it didn't it certainly should have done. Not only were the assistants more helpful this time round, but a couple of the companies admitted they'd sharpened up their policies and reduced their premiums because it was clear they weren't competitive. That's the power of Which Motorcaravan for you. NEXT>
