Best Beaches in Britain

With the summer finally here, it is time to make the most of your campervan. We have created a list of the best beaches in the UK that you can travel down to in your motorhome and enjoy the rest of the summer.

Depending on what you want from a beach there is a huge variety to choose from, so here is a little something for everyone.

Hollywell Bay

The best walking beach in the UK is Holywell Bay in Cornwall. The beach isn’t too far from Newquay so you will be sure to find a site to stay for a couple of nights. The best time to go to this beach is at low tide. This means you can walk past the ship wreck just off the shore which has been around for 70 years.

Barafundle

If you are a lover of sandcastles, or you have children that are, then Barafundle in Pembrokeshire is the beach for you. It was voted the best beach in Britain by “Good Holiday Guide” as it has the perfect sand for building sandcastles.

Fistral Beach

Surfing enthusiasts already know that Fistral Beach in Newquay is the place to be. It is home to the British Surfing Association. Every year in August there is the biggest surfing event in the country and definitely not something to be missed. If you have never been surfing before, this is also the perfect place; there are many surf shops that offer lessons so everyone can get stuck in.

Scarborough

If you are looking for a relaxing family beach, then head to Scarborough in North Yorkshire. This has been a popular holiday resort in the UK since the 17th century. There is plenty of room on the beach which means it is a popular place. Another attraction is the fish and chips shops along the front, so you can also enjoy a traditional English lunch.

No matter where in the country you go make sure you are fully prepared with food supplies, motorhome insurance and an umbrella!
