Motorhome mattress wins inventor yet another accolade

A product devised to make the lives of motorhome users more comfortable has won the developer of the product yet another award.

Thousands of motorists holding motor caravan insurance will be aware of the wonderful qualities of the Duvalay. It has given many mobile home owners the best night’s sleep they have ever experienced on their mobile adventures and thousands will raise a cup of cocoa to salute recognition of the inventors work.

Liz Colleran first unveiled her Duvalay product to the nation in 2011 when she appeared on the hit TV series Dragons Den. The product which combines the facets of a portable memory foam mattress topper with a special shaped duvet works a treat in the confined spaces of a mobile home and the expert Dragons were impressed with Liz’s presentation. In fact Dragon Helen Devey decided to back Liz to the tune of £80,000 and in return got 26% of the business.

The business has gone from strength to strength ever since her appearance on TV and last year Duvalay posted a 10% increase in profits mainly down to motorhome and caravan owners buying the product. With the increase in profits has come even more recognition for Liz and her product culminated in her being named the Forward Ladies Business Woman of the Year earlier this week as well as being named Manufacturing Business Woman of the Year in Leeds.

Liz was delighted with the awards and said: “Running a business is hard, and moments like this where your hard work is recognised make it all worthwhile.” Judges commented on her ambition and drive in marketing her product as reasons why she won the accolade.
