We could not be more excited to announce that this weekend we attempted and (fingers crossed on confirmation for Guinness) succeeded in creating a Guinness World Record™. Although we kept it fairly under wraps before the event, we are now ready to shout it from the rooftops that we were attempting to fit as many people as possible into a classic campervan. And we did it! We fit Fifty-one campervan enthusiasts of all shapes and sizes in a classic 1974 Bay VW Campervan.
Never attempted before and in association with Aviva we enlisted the help of festival-goers at Busfest in Worcestershire. We thought what better time to attempt the record than at Busfest while helping shake buckets for children’s charity Make a Wish. Celebrity TV presenter James Lewis, from BBC’s Flog It and Bargain Hunt was on hand to witness the incredible feat take place.
James Lewis commented, “I’ve been involved in quite a few world records in my time but this has been one of the most exciting yet, especially as it has never been done before and for such a worthy cause.”
Charlotte Davies, Marketing Manager at Comfort said “We really could not have done this without the help of Jamie and Lauren who got 100% behind the challenge and volunteered their campervan and also the amazing volunteers. I honestly do not believe we would have done it with a different group of people. They really put their all into it and were so determined we would achieve it.”
The crowd was great which helped create a fantastic atmosphere and an event to remember for all the volunteers and for everyone at Comfort Insurance.
