It’s tricky owning a campervan or motorhome, as even though yours may have served you well for a number of years there is always that temptation to buy a new model! This is why thousands of motorhome and campervan enthusiasts will be flocking to this year’s Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show 2016 this week at the NEC in Birmingham.
Motorhome and campervan manufacturers are wise to the fact that with a new year comes the temptation to buy a new model, which is why many have impressive new offerings around this time of year. For example, Bailey of Bristol, one of the most famous motorhome and caravan manufacturers in the UK, has unveiled both new caravan and motorhome models in preparation for the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show.
Motorhome-wise, Bailey’s full Approach Advance range will be appearing at the show which is perfect for those looking to buy their first motorhome. The Approach Advance 615 starts at just £38,515 and comes with a number of impressive features including a combination oven, a fully lined separate shower cubicle, slide out bed boxes, premium fixtures and fittings as well as a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty.
Those looking for something a bit more luxurious may want to check out Bailey’s Autograph range which starts at £46,015. The Approach Autograph 765 is the most high-end model in the range, costing around £49,105. This model boasts a number of new features including an internal headroom of 2.10m (6’10’), dual finish Italian design overhead locker doors and an under floor dedicated storage area for footwear. Coming in at a massive 7.450m in length and 2.412m in width this motorhome easily provides both comfort and style for up to 6 people!
Bailey of Bristol is just one of the big names appearing at this year’s Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show, with prominent motorhome manufacturers Adria Mobil and Danbury debuting their new models – the Compact SLS and the Ford Transit Fun! respectively. The Adria Compact SLS comes with an all new SlideOut feature with quick and silent operation, meaning prepping your motorhome for the night just got ten times easier. The stylish new model also comes with a new front cap design and large panoramic window, constellation skylight feature in the bedroom and ‘concave design’ deep overhead cupboards.
Meanwhile, Danbury’s Ford Transit Fun! is a converted Ford Transit which was named Campervan of the Year 2016 by MMM and Which Motorhome. One of the best things about Danbury’s motorhomes is that there are so many customisations to choose from, including awnings, alloy wheels, leather seats and more. However, the Fun! comes with 8-way adjustable seat, CD radio with Bluetooth and steering wheel controls and a trip computer as standard, meaning you may not need to add any extras!
Even if you aren’t lucky enough to be heading to the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show, there are numerous new motorhome models coming out to enjoy later this year. For example, Hymer’s new Van S will hit the market this July and features a Mercedes Sprinter footprint and 129-hp CDI engine. This “super-compact motorhome” is perfect for those who like to get away last minute and/or are not fans of driving (or parking!) large vehicles.
The Hymer Van S boasts a tiny width of just 2.22m and customers can choose lengths of either 5.65m or 6.36m, providing 2-3 berths. The Van S weighs a tiny 3,500 – 4,200kg, which coupled with the Mercedes engine means you will have enough power on the road no matter where you travel. When it comes to the interior the Hymer Van S is all about class, with a fitted roof light, plenty of storage space and cold foam mattresses in all the beds.
With spring only a few weeks away we are sure that even more new motorhome and campervans will be hitting the market soon, which means if you’re thinking of investing in something new you’ll have plenty to choose from. The question is, which one strikes your fancy?
