Cornish Motorhome Site Wins Magazine Accolade
Campervan and motorhome enthusiasts have more reason than ever to visit Tehidy Holiday Park in Cornwall, after it was voted best small caravan and motorhome site in the UK by a national magazine.
For many years motorhome owners have headed for the South West and in particular to Cornwall for touring holidays. The variety in landscape from rugged moorlands to stunning surf saturated beaches presents an open invitation to the kind of holidays mobile homes offer, and this knowledge was uppermost in the thoughts of Richard and Julie Barnes, who have been campervan insurance holders in the past, when they set about re-vamping the holiday park six years ago.
Today visitors to the site will find a warm welcome from Richard and Julie, and they cater for the full spectrum of guests. It is not only campervan and motorhome users that can stop at Tehidy, touring caravans and campers with tents are more than welcome, plus there are a variety of cottages and wigwams available to rent for those who prefer a little more luxury. As well as being voted best small site by Practical Motorhome magazine, the site features in the top 100 sites recommended by Practical Caravan readers, it has also just picked up its fifth annual gold David Bellamy Conservation Award. David and Julie have managed to build their environmentally friendly site around a background rich in natural delights. A careful tree planting scheme has introduced a backdrop of foliage native to Cornwall and a stream and hedgerows around the site brings a proliferation of wildlife into close proximity with the campers.
David and Julie are thrilled with the recognition their industrious approach has achieved, with David saying: “Receiving these awards has provided us with a very exciting start to this summer’s holiday season, and bookings are already well ahead of last year’s figures at this time. I hope the publicity will also benefit other tourism businesses in the area by drawing attention to what a great place this part of Cornwall is to come on holiday.”
