The Easter holidays aren’t just for children, in fact for most people the Easter break is the first time they’ve had a substantial amount of time off since Christmas. If you’ve not yet decided on your plans for the four day break, then make sure you try one of our cracking (sorry) ideas and don’t just waste them sitting on your sofa!
Join the Party
Staying in London can often be expensive, however there are a number of campsites just outside Central London where you can pitch your motorhome for as little as twenty two pounds per night (read more about this in our ‘Rise of the Motorhome Commuter’ blog). Booking a couple of nights in one of these sites means that you can head into London and join in the plethora of Easter activities and celebrations. If you love a great party, London is the place to be during the Easter holidays, and if you are a huge music fan you will not want to miss the free street festival which is being held in Berwick Street Market to celebrate Record Store Day on April 19th. So far, performers at the event are being kept secret, however last year indie legends such as Frank Turner, Matthew E White, Wire and Steve Mason attended.
Get Back to Nature
Even though it’s still a little bit chilly, we’re seeing a lot more sunshine recently which means that it may be time for you to get back to nature. If you spent the majority of the winter months hibernating inside then now is the time to brush off those cobwebs and plan a trip where you can truly enjoy the great outdoors. This doesn’t just mean going on hikes however, as you could visit local farms that you haven’t been to in years and will remind you of your childhood. While it may sound silly at first, imagine how fun it could be travelling to a farm in your motorhome, seeing all the animals and even going on a tractor ride. You could also buy some fresh farm foods such as eggs, fruits and vegetables and use them to make a rustic meal in your motorhome or campervan later on in the day!
Hit the Seaside
Going to the seaside during Easter is practically a British tradition, and even though it probably won’t be warm enough for sunbathing and swimming in the sea you can still enjoy a big portion of fish and chips and a ’99 flake. Brighton is one of the most famous seaside resorts in the UK, and not only is it home to the famous pier but it also has a range of bars and restaurants to visit during your stay. If you are a massive food-lover then make sure you don’t miss the Brighton & Hove Food and Drink festival between the 16th and the 24th of April, where you can tuck into food from some of the world’s best chefs. You can even take part in a cooking or cocktail making master class then wow your friends with a stunning meal next time you’re in your motorhome!
