The various ‘app stores’ are full of weird and wonderful apps.
Most of them useful in some way, others designed just for fun. All add a little more convenience to our lives.
For caravan, campervan and motorhome owners – convenience is key. Apps that can make their next adventure all the more special. There are literally thousands of apps available to download, and many that would appeal to this group.
But here, we’re just going to talk about six of our favourites.
A satellite app designed for you.
Google Maps is fine – but it doesn’t go the extra mile that CoPilot does.
CoPilot can map your journey based on the size of your vehicle. So it will tell you how to avoid roads with low bridges and narrow lanes.
And it can be used offline. What more do you need?
If you don’t have your entire trip planned out, and are just sort of ‘winging it’, then the Park4Night app will be of great benefit.
It helps you find somewhere to park up for the night. So if it’s getting late, and you’re worried about where you’ll be staying, just open up the app and see what’s nearby.
The app includes user reviews too – so if you have a bit more time, you can head to the nearest, highly-rated stop.
Motorway Services UK
Another app for your travels.
Motorway Services UK does exactly what the name suggests – locates the next or nearest services station.
So if you need to re-fuel, stock-up on a few snacks, or just use the restroom facilities – this app will show you where you need to go.
AA Days Out Guide
Wherever you are in the UK, there’s always something fun and interesting to do nearby.
This AA Days Out Guide app helps you find those activities.
It’s got everything from castles and zoos, to theme parks and beautiful gardens for you to explore.
And it’s completely free!
If you’re holidaying in the summer, and the weather is nice, it might be a good time for a good old fashioned British barbeque.
The iBBQ can help you with this in three ways:
- It will find the best butcher local to where you are
- It will check the weather to make sure it’s suitable for a BBQ
- It will offer recipes and tips for cooking delicious foods
An excellent way to spend an evening in the sun.
When you’re out on the road, and don’t know an area particularly well, it’s always good to know where the local cash machine is.
Especially if you’re out in the countryside, where some shops might not accept card payments.
The ATM finder does exactly that – it finds ATMs. So you can quickly get the cash you need, when you need it.
These are our favourite motorhome apps, which we use whenever we take a holiday around Britain.
Do you have any others that you use? We’d love to hear about them!
