There are many places to go in your campervan and thousands of choices to make, however if you fancy travelling to Wales we have provided some fantastic places to pitch up at as well as ideas for what to do while you are there!

Oak Grove Retreats

Based in a historic town called Llandrindod Wells, this friendly and affordable campsite is perfect for lovers of walking and tranquillity. The campsite is located in the Cambrian Mountains and a close walk to the River Wye. The Cambrian Mountains have been described as “Wales’s last true wilderness” by Lolo Williams from BBC Spring Watch, meaning Oak Grove Retreat is perfect for those who appreciate the countryside with activities such as bird watching, cycling, fishing and more. The mountains have acres of land to walk or cycle too so you will be spoilt for choice. Llandrindod Wells has also been described as one of the few remaining destinations in the UK in which star gazing is possible due to the dark nights. The campsite is also home to Doldowlod Old Station Caravan Park for any railway enthusiasts, featuring original features and a railway restoration project.

The Willows Abersoch

This multi award winning caravan and campsite is located in Abersoch, ideal for romantic getaways and small families (including the dog). This delightful 5 star campsite is small and offers tranquil surroundings with a limited number of guests and certainly no parties. The Willows Abersoch is described as “luxurious, prestigious and uncrowded with old school charm” and boasts beautiful views of the mountains, wildlife and the stunning sea. If you are the outdoorsy type then there are many activities close by to get stuck into including paintball, quad biking, walking and shooting school.


Located between the beach and the mountains, this campsite has everything you could need within close proximity. The campsite has 15 acres of grounds and adjoins to a private beach where you can sunbathe or even launch your own boat! With stunning, panoramic views and a peaceful atmosphere you will get the relaxing break you need. The site is located just 1.2 miles from a few local amenities and if you like to find a bargain then there is a market every Wednesday only 9 miles from the site and also on Mondays just 10 miles away.

Tir Bach Farm

This small spot has everything you need for a family campervan holiday with endless activities for the kids – after all happy kids means happy parents! The beautiful farm site has climbing frames and is home to cows, goats, geese, ducks, turkeys, ponies and pigs. Tir Bach Farm is surrounded by 12 acres of woodland making it perfect for long walks or cycles with the family. The campsite is also ideal for star gazing because of the low level of light pollution. If you fancy a day out you could also visit Folly Farm adventure Park and Zoo which is the premier attraction in Pembrokeshire. There is also a barn for any wet days where they hold events such as BBQs and houses a wood fired pizza oven which is lit 3 times each week to cook your own pizza in!

Wales is home to some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK with acres of land to explore and plenty of other activities to participate in. You have the choice of what kind of getaway you want from walking getaways to fun with the family so if you are looking to book a campervan holiday with the family or even for a romantic getaway then Wales is the perfect place.
