Motorhome with a difference
It is around forty foot long costs between three quarters and one million and a quarter pounds and is the latest must have for A-listers and rock stars. It wowed crowds at the Caravan Salon show in Dusseldorf, Germany this past week, and is of course the Volkner Mobil Performance Bus.
Lauded as the worlds poshest campervan, the motorhome that most mobile home owners would be hard pushed to find enough cash to buy motorhome insurance for let alone the vehicle, has gone down a storm at the motorhome show in Germany. Amazingly the company say there is no shortage of orders for the forty foot long palace on wheels. Stephanie Volkner said the family firm was dedicated to providing the upper echelons of society with a motorhome to match their luxurious standard of living. She said: “Our philosophy is to build the ultimate in luxury and we see it as a house on wheels which can be driven all around the world.”
So what do you get for your money? Well, without doubt the deal clincher is the hidden “garage” between the wheels that has been designed to host a sports car such as a Ferrari or Lamborghini, it has a wow factor all of its own and has proved irresistible for would be punters. With just one push of a button the secret compartment drops to the floor and a cargo compartment edges out to enable the sports car to be loaded up. One more press and the cargo which itself will probably cost something in the region of £200,000 is gently loaded into the bosom of the motorhome and hidden from view.
Of course that’s not all you get for your money. There is a state of the art Bose-Dolby sound entertainment system, a wide screen, hide-away TV, luxurious leather seating and glorious wooden fittings with a magnificent white kitchen packed with everything a modern rock star could wish his chef to have. The bedroom of course is splendid and there is an option for owners to spend a little more on specialised lighting just to make sure they look perfect from every angle.
