Top 20 Motorhome Gadgets

Top 20 Motorhome Gadgets

Motorhomes feel like they have all the mod cons you could possibly want, but there’s always room for more gadgets to make life easier. In readiness for your next trip, we have compiled a list of some of our favourites for travelling in your motorhome.

Must have gadgets for motorhome living

1. Universal phone mount

You will often use your mobile phone for Sat Nav as well as many other Apps as this is where you go for answers to any questions you may have whilst on the road.  With so many motorhome and campervan apps available at your fingertips the need to have your phone within an arms reach is more important than ever. A universal phone mount is the perfect gadget to attach to your windscreen, and no matter what size or model you have, you know your phone will fit without worry.

2. MiFi

Whether you need to use your phone for entertaining or planning the next part of your trip, having access to the internet can often be a problem that motorhome owners face. If you’ve got a smartphone with mobile hotspot facility you can connect your devices to your phone’s signal. The disadvantage of this, however, is it will eat into your phone’s data package and not all phones will let you do this. Essentially a mini-Wi-Fi router, a dedicated mobile hotspot (also known as Mi-Fi) could help with keeping you connected. You can buy mi-fi devices from most mobile networks such as EE, Vodafone, O2 and Three.

3. UST 30-day duro LED camping lantern

For evenings spent under the awning as dusk turns to dark, what’s not to love about this near-indestructible lantern that can shine for 30-days straight without the need to change oil or batteries. With so many of our gadgets constantly requiring charging, this is one that you won’t need to worry about on your next holiday.

4. Handheld vacuum cleaner

No matter how hard we try there’s always going to be crumbs, dust and grime that works its way into our pride and joy. A handheld cordless hoover is great for a quick clean up and can come in handy, especially on longer motorhome trips.

5. Damp meter

Motorhome maintenance is something that all owners should stay on top of, and a damp meter can help with doing just that. Checking your motorhome for any damp will potentially stop any issues getting worse and can even help stop structural damage to your home from home later down the line.

6. Dual USB car charger

A dual USB charging adapter is essential for long journeys on the open road and great for charging your phone enroute to your next destination.  It’s also helpful for when you’re using your phone for directions as you won’t need to panic about running out of power.

Best Motorhome Gadgets for Pet Owners

7. Pet Gear Non-Spill Travel Bowl

Room is limited in a motorhome and it’s important that your pooch stays hydrated. This non-spill pet bowl is perfect for life on the road and ideal for longer journeys as well as when you’ve arrived at your destination. With an outer rim it prevents spillages, and its non-slip base will ensure even the clumsiest of dogs won’t be making a mess in your motorhome.

8. Pet cooling mat

Summer is the most popular time for motorhome trips, so ensuring that all campers stay cool (including the dog) is important. They are self-cooling and come in a range of different sizes, depending on how big your furry friend is, and they are also great to use at home and away.

9. Mudbuster dog paw cleaner

A handy device that could help when it comes to keeping your upholstery mud free.  The dog paw cleaner is made from silicon bristles to help gently remove dirt from any mucky adventures. Its compact design means it can be taken easily wherever you go and all you will need to do is add water to help clean off your pets’ paws.

10. Aquamat dry bag

Another great way of keeping your motorhome clean as the Aquamat dry bag offers a quick and easy method to not only dry off your dog but keep them warm after their walk. Made from a high quality microfibre material, you can rest assured that your motorhome will stay clean from any dirt and sand they may pick up. After use, simply put it in the washing machine and you’re ready to go.

Top Gadgets for Motorhome Days Out

11. Folding electric bike

Riding a bike is the ideal way to get around once you’ve parked up, but all that riding can certainly be exhausting. An electric bike is the perfect substitute for when you want to give your legs a helping hand. Ranging in price, just like anything else it’s worth shopping around to get the electric bike to suit you and your motorhome.

12. Clip on parasol umbrella

Unlike a typical umbrella you stick in the ground this can fold down to a compact size and clip onto your foldout chair once you’ve set up camp. Its adjustable clip with locking feature means it’s also compatible with buggies as well as being great for wheelchair users.

13. Petit pocket blanket

Whether you’re heading to the beach or having a picnic in the woods, a blanket that can fold back into a neat wallet-sized package is always going to be a bonus when trying to pack light. Days out can often feel like you’re taking everything except the kitchen sink, so a blanket that’s big enough for up to four adults as well as being water and puncture resistant is a must.

14. Gomake Ice Cold Sweat Towel

Made from a special blend of breathable microfibres the Gomake ice cold sweat towel instantly cools when wet. Simply apply the towel to the hottest parts of your body and you will get instant relief as you feel your body temperature start to cool. This will be best for those hot summer days or after long walks out exploring in the sun. It can also be used for headaches, fevers, and sudden hot flushes.

Cooking Gadgets For Your Motorhome

15. Divided frying pan

There’s nothing like starting the day off with a full English breakfast and it always goes down a treat with other campers prior to the day ahead. A nifty pan, therefore, will help cook everything all at once and will make cooking in your camper a lot easier. Its individual divided sections, along with its non-stick coating is what makes this frying pan a motorhome must have.

16. 8 in 1 Kitchen Tool

Space is always limited no matter how big your motorhome may be and gadgets that have more than one purpose are always music to our ears. This multipurpose kitchen tool can be a funnel, squeezer, spice grater, can opener, egg separator, masher and measuring cup all whilst being no bigger than a bottle of wine. Perfect for when you want a home cooked meal!

17. Ninja foodi

Branded as the one pot that does the lot, the Ninja Foodi is a multi-cooker that can pressure cook, air fry, grill, slow cook, steam, bake/roast, sear/sauté, dehydrate and cook from frozen so, no matter what you’re planning for your motorhome meals, you’ll be sure that the Ninja Foodi will be able to help.

Motorhome Gadgets for Capturing the Moment

18. GoPro

If your motorhome trips are full of different activities and packed with adventure, then a camera that can withstand the rough and tumble of an outdoor lifestyle as well as getting some great footage is going to be best. The GoPro is a pocketsize waterproof camera that can record and take photographs up to 10 metres under the water. Its durability and functionality are what has made this a popular camping trip necessity.

19. Bluetooth phone clicker

A struggle that you may have experienced whilst travelling as a couple is having very few photos with each other. Unless you visit an area where there are plenty of people to take your photograph, then often you are visiting locations with spectacular views but not able to capture the moment together. This is where a Bluetooth phone clicker could help. Simply connect to your phone, prop your mobile up and then with a small handheld button you can take as many photos as you want. This would also be great for group photos so that none of the family is left out.

20. Instax Mini Link Smartphone Printer

A twist on the classic polaroid, no longer will you need to worry about your photograph coming out perfect first time. Take as many photos as you like using your mobile and select the best ones to send to the Instax mini link smartphone printer. This will also save you carrying round a bulky camera all day long and still allow you to capture those memories for years to come.
