A Shropshire motorhome and caravan dealership is delighted to be in the news for good reasons. Salop Leisure has awarded two local teenagers apprenticeships with the company after the pair had two weeks of work experience at the depot in April 2011.
Ashley Lutwyche and Daniel Taylor both made such a good impression during their two weeks with Salop Leisure in Shrewsbury that management did not hesitate to offer them jobs when they left school. Both boys are former pupils of Sundorne School and Sports College and they are now employed as caravan and motorhome engineering apprentices. Both really enjoyed their work experience and are keen to learn and make progress at the company, who have been very supportive.
Ashley said: “I enjoyed my work experience placement with Salop Leisure and applied for a job here when I left school. I am doing different things every day, which keeps the work interesting. We are both very lucky to have a job as many of our friends are either unemployed or in college and not earning money. Despite being the same age, me and Daniel were not friends, but this has changed and we hope to be at the company for as long as possible.”
Salop Leisure is very proud to support the recruitment of young people on apprenticeship programmes. The two young men showed great interest in the job during their two week stay and this did not go unnoticed. The company are really pleased with the performance of Ashley and Daniel who are working in the workshop which is open seven days week. The company are already considering taking on more apprentices later this year as caravans and motorhomes are becoming more popular. The company already get work from motor home insurance companies and there is an increasing demand from owners who are keeping on top of servicing and repairs.
