Campervan enthusiasts looking to holiday in New Zealand can now set out on their adventure a little more quickly, thanks to an innovative antipodean campervan hire firm.
Auckland Airport Commercial Services have opened up the world’s first on-airport campervan facility which will enable UK travellers to get a flying start to their campervan adventure. Travellers will be able to walk straight to their campervans and set off on their trip, or if they prefer, take a rest at the specially designed relaxation centre before they go on their way.
Most of the holiday makers will have sorted out their campervan insurance before setting off but they will still have the opportunity to amend policies in the airport due to Wi-Fi facilities. Martyn Brewer, the brains behind the scheme, said “We opened the new facility to allow greater choice for campervan travellers, offering an easy, affordable and hassle-free service with all the amenities you would expect from a modern facility. Our guests can step off a plane and into their travelling home, but make use of the amenities, stock up at the supermarket or get some rest before embarking on their road trip – a recommendation strongly encouraged by all major campervan rental groups to avoid driver fatigue on unfamiliar roads.”
The park will hold over 50 campervans and the facilities include landscaped gardens, toilets, and showers. There is ample kitchen and laundry areas, a supermarket, cafés and a variety of sports to keep all the family occupied. The complex even supplies a dumping station for waste and sewage accumulated on the trip so the travellers can leave the vans in good shape for the next set of adventurers.
