Choosing what caravan to buy is not the only decision caravan owners have to make when they are debating their next holiday, they also have to think about which caravan insurance policy would suit their needs the most, and also what car they should use in order to tow their caravan safely and easily during their travels. Therefore, Club Care Insurance, the insurance division for The Camping and Caravanning Club, recently took a survey of one hundred caravan owners to find what tow car most owners would be most likely to buy next.
The winner was the Land Rover Discovery 4×4, which nineteen per cent of caravan owners said would be the ideal vehicle to replace their current tow car. This is due to the fact that the Land Rover Discovery 4×4 has a range of features that help caravan owners tow their trailers, including Trailer Assist which comes as standard and automatically detects the presence of a trailer. Once the vehicle reaches thirty seven miles per hour sensors monitor the behavior of the trailer and if it detects that the caravan is swaying or oscillating it applies selective braking of the appropriate wheels to correct the problem.
Land Rover UK Managing Director Jeremy Hicks was extremely pleased at the survey results and said: “We are delighted to receive this award as it is directly voted for by consumers. The Discovery 4 is packed with clever technology to make the life of a caravanner safer and easier. This accolade is a strong independent testament to the versatility and capability of Land Rover products.”
Nigel Coppen, Client Director at Club Care insurance also commented on Land Rover’s win and said: “In addition to the strength and solidarity of Land Rover vehicles and the fact they offer caravanners a good vantage point on their travels, there’s nothing like the unparalleled four-wheel drive ability for getting your caravan off its pitch, whatever the weather.”
